Matthew B. Shoemake, Ph.D.
Dr. Matthew B. Shoemake is a technical expert in wireless communications and complex electronics, with extensive experience testifying in U.S. district courts, ITC investigations, and IPR proceedings. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University, where his research focused on communications theory and systems.
Dr. Shoemake was the elected chairperson of the IEEE 802.11g (Wi-Fi 3) standard and the first chairperson of the IEEE 802.11n (Wi-Fi 4) standard, playing a key role in advancing wireless networking technologies. He also led advanced product innovation in the communications and semiconductor industries, with technical contributions spanning DSPs, Wi-Fi, DSL, cable modems, Wireless USB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi cameras. His expertise includes source code analysis, product testing, networking protocols, embedded systems, and digital signal processing, making him a trusted expert in high-stakes patent litigation and technology disputes.
